1) Entry is open to all. All participants will be seeded by based on their ratings on October 1, 2006 (this will include rated games played in September). Players with identical ratings will be seeded based on the order they signed-up (there is no systematic advantage to being seeded higher or lower). Late entries will be seeded in based on their rating when they are first paired for a game. Players will maintain the same rating for seeding purposes throughout the tournament regardless of rating change; therefore, their seeding will only be affected by late entries (below). The Season will be a 10 Round, Swiss paired tournament. There is no limit on the number of participants.
Late Entries will be accepted prior to Round 4 Round 4 (Jan 1, 2007) and Prior to Round 6 (March 1, 2007). Late entries will be paired as follows:

If they are seeded in the bottomw 1/8th of players they will be apired as 0 points out of 3. All other players will be paired as 1 point out of 3. Entrants beginning in Round 6 will be paired at 1 point more than they would have been assigned had they entered for Round 4.

Your opponent MUST agree. Upon your return you MUST request the time limit return to 7 days. Caution: In order to avoid a time-out, make your move before reverting to the 7 day time limit !
4) The League Director is to be contacted if any problems or disputes arise regarding results. All decisions by the League Director are final. Anyone showing gross unsportsmanship behaviour against their fellow League players will forfeit their game.
5) If you plan to invoke the "draw due to no piece capture" rule you must notify your opponent a minimum of six moves in advance.
6) As in all previous League Seasons, a player's Game Statistics must be turned on at all times. Please send all game results to the League Director quiet man 2 (argylesocks) so that we can post the results on this website.
7) In the event of a tie for 1st place at the end of the tournament Season co-Champions will be declared UNLESS all tied players wish to play a Round Robin to break the tie. If ALL tied players do not agree than co-Champions will be declared.
8) If a player times-out that player will not be paired for future games until that player contacts the director and indicates that he or she plans to continue playing. A player who times out in two separate incidents (times-out in one game, moves in a game, times-out again) will not be paired for future games but may continue games in progress. |
