Kathy's Lemon Poppy Seed Loaves
2 1/4 cups flour
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups suger
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
3/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup butter or margarine, at room temperature
Grated peel of 1 lemon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Put all ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Beat until well mixed (2 or 3 minutes). Divide batter into 4 greased 5 X 3-inch loaf pans. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until cake tester instered in center comes out clean. Remove pans to a cooling rack while preparing glaze.

GLAZE: In small bowl, mix 1/3 cup sugar with 3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Brush over tops of loaves. Cool 10 minutes in pans; then remove from pans and cool completely. Makes 4 loaves.
