1) Ensure that the Students� Association�s finances are in a position to provide you with the services you want.
The financial situation of the Association is key in making decisions on how the Association is run. Decisions must be made in the light of the Association�s large overdraft, and these decisions must ensure a return to financial stability.
2) Ensure that the Association provides a variety of events for all students, such as opening Teviot�s Costa Coffee bar in the evenings, and researching student opinion through better marketing and research.
Currently decisions are often made in a uniformed way. We must ask students what they want, before providing services. This way we will be able to meet student demand, and reinvest in services that promote student welfare, and are priced competitively.
3) Support societies in making use of the Unions, by allowing the use of their own food, simpler room booking procedures, and better funding.
The Students� Association needs to build bridges with Societies, providing social space for society meetings, and services to meet society needs. The Association does not need to be 'Big Brother' to societies, and must put structures and policies in place to facilitate societies. This may mean employing someone to help societies organise events, allowing socieites to bring their own food into the Unions, or just finding ways to make event organisation as easy as possible.
