The flight, is approaching Katmandu airport. From high up, one already gets a most wonderful view from the highest mountains in the world.
The capital of Nepal is actual a combination of 3 different cities, called Patan Katmandu and Bhaktapur grown into one. I noticed that it was not cold at all, as I had thought being so high above sea level. The local time was 15 minutes later than India time.
At a certain predetermined spot, the group stopped, the more courageous ones among us, dressed up with life vest, helmet, and followed the local guides, through some vegetable fields to the banks of the Trisuli river. We are going to do some white water rafting.
Lining up before the rubber rafts, we get some instructions, a lot of joking is taking place, we get into the flexible wet dinghy. The Trisuli river, is one of the many Himalayan rivers, originating from the majestic Himalayas snow covered peaks. This river is one of the tributaries of the Ganges. We arrived in Pokhara. Stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel
A most beautiful place, the layout, the gardens and surroundings, the view of the Himalayan mountain peaks. A real Garden of Eden.
