| When are students in class? Classes are separated into 8 periods during the day. Each class is an hour and twenty minutes long. Period 1 8:10-9:30 Period 2 9:50-11:10 Period 3 11:30-12:50 Period 4 1:10-2:30 Period 5 2:50-4:10 Period 6 4:30-5:50 Period 7 6:10-7:30 Period 8 7:40-9:00 Similar to most college campuses, students try not to schedule classes on Fridays so that they can have a long weekend. Where do students live? Most freshmen and sophomores live on campus in the dorms. The majority of upper classmen live either in the Easton Avenue apartments or off campus. A large number of students from Cook, Douglass, Busch and Livingston (particularly upperclassmen) move to the College Avenue campus for off campus housing to be closer to the action. Where do students eat? A favorite past time of college students, next to drinking, is eating! Each campus has a dining hall, some better than others (students have voted Busch the best "on-campus" dining hall). Many students can be found in the student centers around mealtime. Additionally, a favorite is Au Bon Pain in the Rutgers Student Center (ok, maybe that's just MY favorite!) Lastly, you can't forget the infamous grease trucks located on College Avenue, across from Voorhees Mall. What is Kosher on campus? Chabad has a kosher meal plan for students. Additionally, Brower has a kosher meal plan but apparently those meals are pre-packaged and not so great. Many students who keep kosher choose to dine at the many kosher restaurants in Highland Park. |
