What's Happening appears on the front page of the Targum every day and is FREE. The Targum will feature your program the two days before and the day of the event. You can e-mail your submission to [email protected] or submit forms at the Targum office by noon the day before publication. Due to space limitations, there is no guarantee that an event will be listed.
Classified Ads are very popular for publicizing programs. Most of my programs fell under either the Events or Greek Forum section of the classifieds, which are located at the back of the newspaper. All classified ads must be submitted by 9:30 am the day before publication to the Targum office in the Rutgers Student Center. Large classified ads can be maximum of 25 words and cost:
1 day - $20.55
3 days - $18.05/day
5 days- $16.80/day
10 days- $14.20/day
Additionally, you can submit display classifieds, which include a graphic which is $9.95/column inch. These classifieds must be received by 4pm three days prior to publication
Display ads are the most expensive and cost $150 for a quarter page ad. An ad in black and white must be submitted three days in advance. More than one event can be advertised at a time this way. The ad can be submitted in a regular 8 and a half by 11 size and they will shrink it to fit the column size.
Lastly, it is important to note that about twice a month, there are special issues, including a welcome back, homecoming, career supplement, thanksgiving, welcome back, valentine�s, off campus housing, and summer session issue. At the start of the fall semester ask the Targum for a copy of their special editions calendar so that you can plan your advertising accordingly. For example, promoting the JCSC position should be in the February and March Careers Supplement edition.
