Lake Erie Steelhead Conditions
11/27/2001 Walnut Creek I haven't posted a report in the last week or so mainly because there hasn't been a significant enough change to report, until now. This weekend should be the best fishing of the season. There has been a few days of rain already and more rain is forecasted for the remainder of the week. The reports have stated there are lots of fresh fish moving into the streams and the water clarity is on the murky side. Elk Creek As above, the conditions are good at Elk. Look for quality fishing everywhere on the stream. The fish are running and are spreading out to all areas of the stream with the recent rains. My advice is to avoid the high traffic areas. Trout Run The lake conditions have seemed to change on a daily basis. This is your best bet when the weather is right. Look winds that are blowing to the North, as this is usually a sign of good lake conditions.
I will be posting updated stream reports for Walnut and Elk Creek at least twice a week throughout the season. I am able to get accurate reports even when I can't visit the stream thanks to the help of Poor Richards Bait Shop. When your in the area, stop by thank Poor Richards for their accurate stream reports and allowing this site to post them!
