The
TurboGrafx 16
from NEC
Ahh yes, the good  old TurboGrafx 16. I still have mine and still play with it quite a bit too. It had the best graphix around for its time and it used two 8-bit processors (hence the 16) for fast, colorful, and fun gameplay. Unlike most other systems of its day, it used credit card like game carts. They were small, but they packed more punch than the larger game carts used by the other systems of its day.
It didn't have many of the big titles that the others had but it quietly held its own and earned a loyal following. There was a CD add-on released but it didn't do too well because of the cost. This was THE best system of its time as far as performance is concerned anyway.
The PC Core system was small and kicked butt!
The Turbo Shuttle and Japanese CD system.
The Turbo Express A portable TG-16 system which was also a TV!
The Super Graphix, the big brother of the TG-16.
The little known Turbo Duo and north american CD system.
The Japanese PC engine.
