The Vectrex was the first, and ONLY, fully self contained vector-graphics home arcade system. It had a built in vector monitor and speaker so it didn t need a TV. It was about the size of the old Macintosh classic so it fit in anywhere. It had zooming and rotation effects that were unparraleled in its day! I still have mine and it works perfectly. I have about one dozen games for it still also. I still play with it quite a bit too. The graphics were monochrome vector lines with tinted screen overlays which added the illusion of color. A color version was supposed to be released but never was. Too bad....
Here is a screen shot of Star Trek, one of the best (and my personal favorite!) games for this rare system.
Here is a nice BIG pic of the Vectrex
There were quite a few add-ons created for this unique system that were never released but should have been! Like the keybaord and multi game adapter. Below are a couple of neat gadgets!
The little known 3-D Glasses! Another cool idea that never made it to the production line! Darn!!
The Vectrex Light Pen. Cool idea! Never made it into production though...too bad!
