The ATARI 2600
VCS
The ATARI 2600 VCS (video computer system) was one of the longest lived game systems of all time. It had bad graphics, crappy sound, and unresponsive controllers. It was also a lot of fun to play with!
The carts were only around 4-10k each but developers managed to pack one helluva lot of gameplay into them! Nowadays, programmers think little of wasting 64k here or there-- that was the equivalent of 6 or 7 whole games on the VCS!

I've seen some monster 10 to 20 meg games that don't mach the gameplay found in some 10k VCS games!

I still have mine and I play it now and then. The early VCS games were rather primitive, but the later ones made in the 80s were pretty damn cool!

Modern programmers could take some lessons from the old timers!
