| Vaclav Nizhinsky (also seen as Vaslav Nijinsky) (1890-1950) Not a composer himself, but Nizhinsky was perhaps the greatest Russian ballet dancer ever. He performed for many years, including working in Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg from 1907-1911. He choreographed many ballets and was a spectacle to watch perform. |

| Piotr Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) Russian composer of the late 19th century, whose famous works include Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Sleeping Beauty. He was born east of Moscow ???on May 7, 1840. His mother died when he was 14. In 1862 he entered the St.Petersburg Conservatory of Music. |
