Documentaion of the Develoment Process. The main intent and purpose of this website is to inform a customer of the services that my uncle Ralph offers. I have done this by including a home page with general information his business, a page about past hunts, the currents hunts he is offering, a contach us page, and an about us page. This was achieved by planning the website in phases. The first phase incuded identifying what type of business my uncle has and who his intended customers are. The second phase of development was submitting the framework for navigation of this website. I planned how the website would be layed out and how the pages would be accessed. The third phase of development was deciding how the website would look. This includes the color scheme I would choose, the font of the text, and what template I would use for the final design. The last phase was the finialization of the website for my uncle Ralph. I designed the website using an HTML5 text editor where I wrote the code to make this website what it is today. I used a CSS style sheet to simplify the visual effects of my website.
Defense of the Final Product. I made the specific design choice that I did because I feel that a simple site that is easy to read and navigate will keep the customer informed and interested. The entire site uses a bordered navigation menu in brown that is laid out to provide links to each of the pages. The current page is not list in the menu but it is listed above the bordered content. I also used a shadow effect with green on my website title and current page name so it will pop out to the visitor. The pages have the pictures laid out margin left and margin right. I like to have a site that is the same layout on each page to make it easier for the visitor to read. Each page also has a mallard duck call when the page opens. This mp3 file does not loop and only plays once. The home page has basic information about the business and four pictures that I had taken in Arkansas when I was there hunting. The past hunts page has four pictures of some of the past hunts that I have been on in Arkansas along with a table listing some past customers. The current hunts page has four pictures of the type of waterfowl that can be hunted. There is also a youtube video embeded in the page of a hunt in Arkansas. The contact us page has two pictures and contact information for my uncle's business. The about us page included two pictures and an explination on what the business is about. The website is easy to use due to the background choice and navigation menu being inside a border that helps with visibility.
Opportunities for Improvement and Growth. I would like to include more photos and find a better background. I am not clear on how to add opacity to a background image to make is less visible. I would also like to add more content as well. I could have choses a better color combination for the website. The brown, black, and green colors were chosen because those are the three major colors in camoflauge. I would have liked to explore more advanced CSS and HTML5 features to add even more enchancements to the pages. I would like to add a store feature in the furture to allow a customer to purchase a hunt of products directly on the internet as opposed to calling over the phone. This would pull more visitors and create more sales for my uncle.
