The Maine Coon

You can not believe everything you hear about the Maine Coon cats,are they:

• A wild cat mated with a Lynx.
• A close relative of Christopher Colombus's aristo cats.
• A marcian species,with spiked ears.
• Brought to Maine by the " Romans ",did you say " Romans "?.

Quite a lot is said about Maine Coons,but they are really very affectionate cats which

are capable of being trained to do some doggy tricks, such as walking on a lead. They

are also very fast movers, and can very easily catch flies, and birds in the air. Since

Maine Coons love water then, watch out for your much loved gold fish in your open ponds.

Maine Coons, are one of the most beautiful of domestic cats, larger than most domestic

cats. They come in a range of colours, and generally weigh on average between 9-10 Kgs.

One of the main features of Maine Coons is their Lynx like ear tips. They can normally live

up to the age of twenty, and they do not reach full maturity until they are four years

old. Maine Coons are addictive because once you own one, you can not resist the temptation

of adopting another. They are a good company too, and they are amazingly pleasurable to

own.
