WHAT IS THE RUSIN ASSOCIATION?


The purpose of the Rusin Association as defined in their bylaws is:

To sustain, as worthy of preserving and perpetuating in their own right, the distinct nationality, history, language and heritage of the Rusin people and to collect, preserve, and disseminate historical, genealogical, linguistic and cultural information about the Rusin people, a nationality that has been, and still often is called by various other names which include, but are not limited to the following:

Rusin-Ukrainians
Rusyn-Ukrainians
Carpatho-Ukrainians

The Rusin Association holds monthly meetings, an annual Duchnovich dinner and rus'Kyj Den picnic. They sponsor workshops, lectures, seminars and tours of our homeland; staff a booth at the Festival of Nations and other local events; and publish the newsletter TREMBITA.


Monthly meetings are held the first Saturday of the month, from October through June, 10:30 a.m. (except for May), at:


St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church
22nd and 3rd Street N.E.
Minneapolis, MN 55418


Membership is $15.00 annually, due in January. The Rusin Association Newsletter TREMBITA, is sent to all members
