     Darth Vader was born with the name Anakin Skywalker. Vader's early history is sketchy and incomplete, but sometime after beginning training as a Jedi with Obi-Wan Kenobi he crossed over to the darkside and became a servant of the Emperor. When Anakin joined the darkside he became known as Darth Vader.
     Palpatine continued Vader's training and he eventually earned the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. Vader was forced to wear his famous black suit because of injuries he sustained in a battle with Kenobi.
      As Vader continued his reign of terror with the Emperor's New Order, Vader's wife was pregnant with twins, although Vader did not know. Kenobi took action to split the twins sending Leia to Alderaan to be adopted by Bail Organa and Luke to Tatooine to be adopted by Kenobi's brother, Owen Lars.
      Soon afterwards, Kenobi went into hiding and Vader and the New Order began their great jedi purge. The Light Jedi were greatly outnumbered and were wiped out. The New Order now ruled over much of the galaxy.
      Vader and the Empire continued to grow stronger and soon came the development of a powerful new battlestation, the Death Star. Vader was assigned to watch over the construction. Rebel spies stole plans to the Death Star and planned an assault. The plan worked and the Death Star was blown up by Luke Skywalker. Vader soon discovered that it was indeed his own son that was responsible. Vader intended to convert him to the darkside and confronted him on Mimban and Bespin.
      Luke and Vader's final confrontation came on the second Death Star which orbited the forrest moon of Endor. The Emperor and Vader intended to bring Luke over to the darkside, but Luke had his own plans. Luke appealed to his father and tried to bring him back to the light side. During the confrontation the emperor attempted to kill Luke with force lightning believing it was impossible to convert him. Vader finally gave in to Luke's appeal and to his plea for help. Vader lifted Palpatine and hurled him into the power core. Unfortunately, it is impossible for a Dark Jedi to return to the light side and continue living. Vader died on the Second Death Star.
