a. the student MUST notify Mr. Campbell IN WRITING WELL BEFORE THE CONFLICT(2-3 weeks).
b. Mr. Campbell and the other team/event coach or sponsor will work out what the student should do about the conflict. Input from the student and the parents is welcome, but Mr. Campbell and the other sponsor(and/or RCHS administration, if necessary_ will make the final dexcision as how to handle the conflict; the student will then simply do as directed.
c. THERE WILL BE NO GRADING REPERCUSSIONS FROM MISSING A MANDATORY BAND EVENT IF THESE PROCEDURES ARE FOLLOWED.
d. Affected events will be RCHS pre-scheduled, official performance events ONLY. Practices or rehearsals for such events do not qualify; no do any other non-RCHS events. Contact Mr. Campbell immediately if you need further clarification.
2. Quality of Participation includes but is not limited to attention, efforts, music and supplies at hand, attention to detail, following instructions and band policies and rules, etc.
4. Private band lessons with a qualified, professional instructor count double(e.g. 'tpt lesson; 30=60').
5. Guitar, bass, piano, or other non-band instrumental lessonswit a qualified, professional instructor can count for an hour each week(that inclueds any and all practiece for those lessons). Do not count piano, bass, guitar, etc. practice as band practice. Enter the item once on each week's practice card, e.g. 'piano lessons=60'
6. Tests or quizzes are assigned can raise or lower grades by a fewe pts. each, usuallly 1-5.
7. Chair audition score, in whichever quarter it falls, + or -7. 1 point for each 10 pts. of audition score.
SEMESTER TEST:up to five points up or down.
Grading Scale:
A+ 99-100; A 97-98; A- 95-96
B+ 93-94; B 90-92; B- 88-89
C+ 85-87; C 80-84; C- 77-79
D+ 75-76; D 72-74; D- 70-71
