| The concept of fireworks is a line in the third verse. It sort of deals with the way American pop culture is, the way the music business is, and I guess the way any popular industry is. The idea that there are no true stars anymore because they don't have the time to develop into the stars. So it's fireworks: you look up into the sky and there are the stars and fireworks are kind of like the pop stars that come and go really quickly. On another level, the song explores relationships: between a boy and a girl or two countries or anything. The person you're relating to can all of a sudden turn your whole world upside down and it just doesn't matter. |
