Christmas Lantern 

This tutorial was written  in PSP 7. It assumes you have working knowledge of vectors, selections and layers.  Please do not link to or remove images and or tutorial in any way and claim it as your own.

You will need:

Shapes (unzip in PSP7/Shapes):

Note: FC = Foreground Color

BC = Background color

CV = "Create as Vector" checked

CVU = "Create as Vector" unchecked

At first we`ll make the template.

Create new file 400 x 500, transparent. 

Choose Preset Shape tool - rectangle, CV, line width = 5, FC - your choice, (I used #E6BE7E), BC - null. 

Draw the rectangle approximately 150 x 200. Objects - Align - Center in Canvas. 

Move the cursor to point 1, press Ctrl button and slightly "press" the lower part of the rectangle (see picture).

Then Layers - Convert to Raster.

Choose Draw tool: single line, CV, line width = 5, FC - your choice, (I used #E6BE7E), BC - null.

1st variant

Draw the vertical line.

Objects - Align - Center in Canvas. 

Layers - Convert to Raster.

Merge Visible Layers.

2nd variant

Draw the inclined line.

Layers - Duplicate, then Image - Mirror. 

Layers - Convert to Raster.

Merge Visible Layers.

Now for next layers I will use other colors - it is FOR CLARITY only ;-) 

You can continue using the same color (#E6BE7E).

Choose Preset Shape tool - find my form (bell-1), CV, FC and BC - your choice, (I used #E38181). 

Draw the "bell1" at the top of the image (see picture).

 To position the form properly: Objects - Align - Center in Canvas. Then hold Ctrl button and press "cursor up arrow" button some times until the form will be in position.  

Layers - Convert to Raster. 

The rest parts of the lattern are added in the same way. I marked them out with different colors (for clarity). NOTE: each form should be added on the separate layer.  Below is some examples:

You can use any appropriate forms for the top and low parts of the lantern. I only get the general idea...
