"The discussion regarding the possibility of constructing a by-pass for Route 63 is a key issue for the future of folks living in the 147th District.  NAFTA has generated a local catastrophe with the increased truck traffic from Canada.  We need to reroute that traffic, but we cannot destroy both our farmland and our way of life in the process.  It is neither necessary nor desirable to do so. There are cost effective and rational solutions to this problem.  When the current system was designed we made mistakes.  Let's be smarter this time.  When elected to the New York State Assembly, I will fight for a smart solution."
