Ursula
This was our Rottweiler, or "Rottenweiler" as my parents called her.  We got her from a breeder because my mom wanted a big dog to help keep away annoying salespeople.  It worked.  So why Ursula?  Well as a puppy she looked like a bear and my dad said that Ursula meant 'she-bear' in Latin.  We all liked that so Ursula it was.
Ursie was my mom's dog.  My mom took her to dog trainng school and she would sit and talk with Ursie.  When Ursie got older and wasn't able to get around as well my mom did a lot of extra things to make her life easier, like move the food bowl inside.  She also got Shiloh to keep Ursie company after Butterball died.
But when my mom went in for her second brain surgery, Ursie got very sick.  She died while my mom was at Johns Hopkins.  My mom was very sad, but we all knew that Ursie was very old for a Rottweiler, 13, and she had lived a good life.
It is very comforting to know that Ursie was there when my mom died.  And when I read that rainbow bridge poem it makes me think of my mom and Ursie and how they must have been so happy to see eachother.  I miss you Ursie!
