ShyAnn
ShyAnn is my dog.  She is a beagle mix or a pure beagle.  I got her from the animal hospital I work at.  Someone, who used to work at the hospital, found her running along the side of a busy highway about 45 min away from where I live and work.
It turned out she had heartworms!  For those of you who don't know, heartworms are exactly what they sound like, worms in the heart.  It is very expensive to fix.  Needless to say, the woman didn't want to have to pay $300 to get the heartworms taken care of on a stray dog.
She stayed at the hospital for a week or so and I fell in love with her.  The doctor told me if I could find a home for her, he would take care of the cost of the treatment.  I tried very hard to find a home for her.  Finally, I talked my boyfriend at the time into taking her.   She was such a good little dog.  But when he kicked me out, he kicked her out with me too.
So I brought her home with me.  She is a very calm beagle with a very loud howl, but that is any hound dog.  She thinks that she should be the center of attention and will very calmly pushy her way onto your lap.  Even people who don't like dogs, love ShyAnn.
(By the way, if you noticed we have a dog named Shiloh and ShyAnn, that was on purpose.  They were both very shy dogs when they first came to live with us.)
