Shiloh
Shiloh as an American Walker Coonhound who is about six or seven years old.  He was a neglected dog that a friend of mine found staked down to a three-foot lead.  When she took him in her home he was very shy, uncomfortable and extremely emaciated.  She couldn't keep him so I asked my mom if she wanted a dog.  After meeting with Shiloh once, her heart melted.  She said she would take him home for a trial visit, but my mom with her very big love for animals decided to keep him.
Shortly after owning Shiloh, my mom found out she was going to have brain surgery again.  Shiloh with his very calm nature helped my mom a lot.  He was there to greet her when she came home to work and he was there to nudge her hand and let her know he wanted her attention.  After the surgery, he became my mom's therapy dog.  We even brought him to the rehab. center to visit her a couple times.  They both thoroughly enjoyed it.
Shiloh really misses my mom now.  If you come to the door he will scream his coondog howl and be very anxiously waiting to see who comes in the door.  He is getting better about it, but then we all still miss my mom.  Shiloh is really an awesome dog who has really touched all of our lives.
