| Sabrina |
| Sabrina is about 12 years old. I actually named her because I thought the name Sabrina sounded very prissy, which is how this Himalayan cat looked to me. Sabrina was given to us by a breeder friend who couldn't keep her cats any more. She asked my parents to hold on to this cat for a few days until she found it a home. Of course, my parents had three daughter under the age of ten who grew very attatched to the newest member of the household. Sabrina is a very anti-social cat. She pretty much only likes my youngest sister Jenny and occassionally, when my sister is not around, me. It used to upset my mom that Sabrina was not friendly with her because my mom had always wanted a cat like Sabrina. But a few months before my mom passed away, Sabrina started sleeping in bed with my mom and acting like she was my mom's cat. She still remains, though, a very anti-social cat. Sabrina has also had her own miracle. For a very long time she had four or five masses on her belly. Finally, my mom took her to the vet. It turned out she had mamory tumors about the size of golf balls. The doctor said he would do surgery on them, but to realize that things might be really bad inside and she might not wake up from the anesthesia. My mom told us and we were very, very upset. So we prayed for Sabrina at church. The morning of surgery, her lumps, that had been there for years, had vanished. Praise God. From this I know God cares about our pets just as much as he cares about us. |
