| Talking without words Indians often communicated with Indians from other tribes. When their spoken words were not understood they used signs to speak their words. Try to talk to a friend in this way. Use no words, just hand motions and gestures to convey your message. An example would be moving the fingers through the air to represent rain, or moving the hand in a quarter circle representing the sunrise. Others might be pointing at ones eye to mean see or holding a hand behind an ear to imply hear or heard. |
