Did the river loop today, figuring it to be about a 21 mile run. Turned out to be 27 miles, instead! Still, the dogs did a great job with only 2 slacking off the tugs towards the end of the run. They all finished in harness on the line...and even did a sprint for the last half mile. The field that we used to go through on the river loop had been plowed up, so the trail curved differently than last year...but Dutchess didn't. We ended up plowing through the snow and turned dirt until we got to the other side. Talk about bumpy!! Then, just as we got back on the trail, a cow moose & calf decided to cross. My pooches did well though, and ignored them. What great dogs!!
Passed 2 different teams on sleds today, and the same yesterday. Now, it's snowing pretty good out there, so I'll be running the sled tomorrow for the first time this season. The sled bag and all are washed and ready, and the sled is strung and waiting to be used. Now if I can just remember how to ride it.....
