Looking back after plowing through a brushy trail
We all ate lunch at Park Lake. The pink leaves shown above belong to blueberry plants which literally covered hill and hills. Luckily for us, they were ripe and there were no bears in the area. I enjoyed some of them for snacks and breakfast the following morning.
After hauling our backpacks for over five hours, we were rewarded the above view of our campsite from atop a ridge. Meet Spectacle Lake.
Also seen from the ridge was Mt. Stuart. According to my instructer, this is the tallest peak of non-volcanic origin in Washington state.
