Runkel an der Lahn
I have added a few pictures of the village and its powerful castle. In each case just click on the thumbnail to get an enlarged view. The pictures were taken in May of 1998.
This first picture is of the village and its medieval bridge from across the river.
Our second vantage point is this view taken from the far end of the bridge looking into the town. Every time I visit Runkel, I am always amazed at how the castle looms above the town.
This third view may be difficult to figure out from the thumbnail. It is a birds eye view looking down on the village the way it would have looked during medieval times. This photo was taken of the model of medieval Runkel, which is located inside of the castle.
