Indonesia - 1997
This page hosts pics and a bit of info on a trip to Indonesia taken in July and August of 1997.
Part of this trip is already on the web site - documented as the Merapi climb. The vacation was to two islands, Bali and Java, and took the better part of six weeks. Most of this time was spent on Bali, with only the last ten days on Java.

These four pictures were taken on Java, the island of many active volcanoes. Top left I am gazing into the caldera of Mount Bromo and top right is an eerie shot just before sunrise at the summit of Merapi. The two pictures below show the ancient shrine of Borobodur and and erupting Mt Sumeru. Each of the pictures are thumbnails and can be enlarged.
