My name is Sabrina, I was born in Quebec with a condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Osteogenesis Imperfecta is a condition that causes bones to fracture easy. When I was 8 my family and I moved to the Yukon. By the age of 12 my health started to deteriate and I became bed ridden on top of all the other side effects of my condition.

By that time I was very depressed and got down on myself a great deal. I needed to find myself a hobby to keep my mind off of everything that was going on around me. Thats when my mother bought me a kit that taught me how to make dream catchers. My first was horrible but I did not give up. Over time I slowly improved and am still improving to this day.

By the time I was 16 came a new, experimental treatment for my condition came out. Though it is not a cure it has very much improved my life. It has stabilized my condition to where my bones are no longer as brittle as they once were. Thanks to it I now am able to sit up again and have had very few fractures since I have started it.

I am currently 22 and am currently living in British Columbia. Runic Dreams is a company I have started out dedicated to one of my loves, making dream catchers. Thank you for your time and I hope you like what you see. Every dream catcher is unique unto it self and is one of a kind. Please feel free to browse my catalogue or contact me about a custom dream catcher.

A brief history on Dream Catchers:

Long ago, ancient Native Americans had a custom. When a child was born, the childs grandmother would take a twig and bend it into a hoop-like shape. Then she would spin a web in the center of the hoop, saying a blessing as each knot was placed in the web. The finished piece would then be placed above the child's bed.

It is said that when the child had a nightmare that the bad dreams would get caught in the web and perish when touched by morning light. When a child had good dreams they would pass threw the middle. Still to this day there are many who still follow this belief in dream catchers.

Over the centuries dream catchers have evolved into works of art with many distinct patterns and looks. Please feel free to browse my work and see if you like anything. Thank you and pleasant dreams!
