Systems upgrade:
We are upgrading several of our main database servers today (15th April). We will try to keep disruption to a minimum, but various sections of our site/game may be temporarily unavailable at different times as we upgrade each machine.
Thanks for your patience whilst we carry out these essential upgrades - The Jagex web team.
The Underground Pass:
Today we have released the massive and extremely sinister Underground Pass quest.
For people not familiar with this quest, it is the 3rd quest in an ongoing storyline following the Plague City and Biohazard quests. Once you have completed the Biohazard quest speak to King Lathas of Ardougne to begin the adventure.
For people who have finished this quest, this update also opens up some popular combat training areas, and the ability to get and recharge the staff of Iban.
This is the final piece of content which needed to be converted from RuneScape Classic. This means that the rest of our development staff can now be assigned to writing brand new game content.
We are now able to begin working on part four of this storyline, which is amongst the many other features listed in our "Upcoming Runescape updates" which we posted on the 31st of March.
Today's update also includes a new filter option for public-chat. By pressing the 'public-chat' button at the bottom left of the game client a few times, you can now choose the new 'hide' mode. In this new mode public-chat will appear above nearby players heads, but will not appear in the bottom message box. This is particularly useful if you find your message box is getting flooded with nearby chat, but you don't want to block out what nearby people are saying entirely.

Moving items off RS-classic:
A large number of players have told us they originally moved their items back to RS-classic, but have now changed their mind, and having tried the update a bit longer, have decided they now wish to play the new RuneScape after all.
Therefore we decided to give you one last chance to make your mind up about where you want your items, and have created a second mover that lets you move your items back to the main RuneScape game.
If you wish to do this then press the 'account management' button on our front web-page, then login, and finally choose 'RuneScape Item Transfers' at the bottom right, to move your items.
This feature is also temporary, and is just for the people who have changed their mind, and want to play the new game after all. This page will be removed in a few days time, since we do not want to leave the games linked. If you want to move your items, then do so now. This is the last chance to do so.

New Event
Some of you are already coming across a new random event in RuneScape, the Tangle Vine!
If you find yourself in the midst of one of these strange plants, which can quickly grow across the floor, then do not panic. The vines will only harm you if they sense you moving, stay still and they will disappear after about 30 seconds with no harm done. The Tangle Vine is a very greedy plant, and it will attack both players and monsters in it's search for food.

Runescape Fantasy updates:
Today all the links were added though not all of them will work. We did manage to get some news though. It seems that there is something new about the mining on RS2 when you mine one of the rocks may have a sparkling stuff of top of it, if you see this do NOT mine the rock or it will break your pickaxe, thats some news we have gathered this might not be true thought but who knows. Also there are mysterious man and genies that will talk to you, I think that they show up at ramdom times but anyways the genie will give you experience to the skill of your choice and the mysterious man was told to us by a fan of runescape that he will give you a talisman, and others say he gives cosmic runes, I have also met the mysterious man but he asked if i was there and it said he gave me something but i never got a thing, there are also river trolls located at the karamja fishing docks attacking players but once the players run away they stop and disappear, and one last thing is there are swarms around attacking people but the thing is YOU CANT HIT THEM so the only thing to do is run, could all these new things be a way to stop auto-players? Who knows.

We've just improved the chat system in RuneScape to incorporate some of your requests.
We've made the following improvements to the chat:
There is now a button in the options-screen, which lets you split private chat onto the main window. If you use this option private messages will be displayed seperately to other messages meaning you won't miss them even in a crowded area. This also means you can still see incoming messages when talking to npcs or sending a message out.
Adding names to your friends/ignore list is now much easier. When someone talks to you, you can now just right-click on their name in the chat box and choose 'add friend' or 'add ignore' to instantly add them to your list.
Removing names from your friends/ignore list is also much easier. Just right click on the name on your list and press 'remove'.
Accepting incoming trade/duel offers is now easier. No more hunting around in a large crowd of people trying to find the person who wants to trade with you. Instead you can simply click on the incoming trade/duel request in your chat box to instantly accept it.
We've also fixed the following bugs:
Fixed: Agility obstacles were doing to much damage when you failed them
Fixed: Some of the obstacles in the wilderness agility course were impossible to fall off at higher levels
Fixed: The boots of lightness made you lighter on free servers
Fixed: Plate skirts had different defence stats to plate legs
Fixed: Some walls near doors and gates could be walked through
Fixed: The duel arena music was not unlocking properly on the juke box
Fixed: The right click trade option at the cookery shop opened a fishing shop
Fixed: Players didn't drop bones when they died
Fixed: Unfinished Irit potions looked like vials of water
Fixed: Having a full inventory when you won a duelling stake meant you left your stake in the arena

Runescape Fantasy updates:
Today Runescape Fantasy has finally been made and opened to the public!!! It took everyone that bothered to help a while to set up this layout... the layout picture is from an anime show called Angel Sanctuary. We are currently updating all the pages on this website while work on our other website called Neopet Nursery, so yeah... working on two pages now we are mainly just waiting for the other people to send us the other pages, so in the mean time we will be playing RS2 to see what we can find out for you.
