RM2K stands for RPG Maker 2000. Developed by Ascii, it allowed the individual to build their own turned based RPGs. Complete with home made graphics and sound. This was all done using a GUI interface.
What RM2K boiled down to was essentially a very basic scripter. You would first draw a map and then place envents that occured on your map. Using individual events left you with a very basic game but by using some of the more complicated events or by combining events then bosses, puzzles, and scenes all became possible. However, despite this, the program was still very limited.
I spent one month developing my first game, and I would say it was about 70 or 80% complete when I had finished with it. Given that foundation I began to develop ideas for new games. I had about 10 in mind, by my next project, Stickman Adventure would carry me through the end of my use of RM2K. Stickman Adventure took so long because it was it was completely built from scratch, a rare trait for RM2K games.
