LIKE A PRAYER

Standout tracks Like A Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Dear Jessie, Oh Father, and Keep It Together.
(In my opinion, the album's best songs)

1. Like A Prayer - The title track could so easily be the album's best track. The haunting lyrics combine religion with eroticism. The whole song captures the mood of the lyrics. The controversial video was banned by MTV, because of Madonna cutting the palms of her hands to reveal stigmata with the blood.
Favourite line: "In the midnight hour I can feel your power."

2. Express Yourself - A dance number for the girls. Madonna sings about making the men in your life prove their love by expressing himself. The song is quite humourous and serious at the same time.
Favourite line: "Satin sheets are very romantic but what happens when you're not in bed?"

3. Love Song - A collaberation with Prince, also written by him. The pair sound fantastic together on this! The song has some powerful vocals with both on top form.
Favourite line: "Are you just being kind? Are you wasting my time?"

4. Till Death Do Us Part - This song is about Madonna's failed marriage to Sean Penn. She sings about him not being in love with her anymore, and their relationship as husband and wife. The song is quite emotional, especially if you listen to the lyrics.
Favourite line: "I'm not your friend, I'm just your little wife."

5. Promise To Try - This song is about Madonna's mother and it is very emotional. It is a ballad with Madonna at her best vocal performance on this album.
Favourite line: "Will she see me cry?"

6. Cherish - A very happy song that is bound to put a smile on your face. It's very catchy and will have you clicking your fingers along.
Favourite line: "Romeo and Juliet, they never felt this way I bet."
