A note on The RummiesÔ

The ancient and infamous society that is the Rummies was formed on the eventful night of the 4th of September, the foam party and all the madness and freestyling that went with it, inspired 4 men; 4 kings among men that go by the names of Jammer Rummy, Harry Rumsfeld, Jim Rumpel and Nobber Rummel to put the time and imagination to form this group devoted to getting rummied and causing havoc. These four men were later known as the 4 founding fathers. At first the rummies were numerous in numbers. The rummy dancing and chanting attracted many wannabe members, but as many of these wannabes fled off in taxis, the four founding fathers were left with Ralphie - we came to realise some streamlining was needed to be done. We felt the "Try Hards" did not have the necessary qualities that one needs to be rummy. Ralphie was welcomed aboard, Prataí or Cuppage as he was later known, duly followed. The 6 returned to the secret HQ of the Rummies, the Dungeon to have our first ever formal meeting. Some heavy drinking and hearty discussion took place and soon we had a catalogue of rules and ideals. But the numero uno rule was "If at any time you see a rummy who is not rummied - do you utmost to get him rummied". Many Try-Hards became jealous of our select group - they still wanted to think they were in the Rummies! But 1 man stood out, the enthusiasm and commitment he displayed earned him the seventh rummy spot - his name was "Bitch Rummy Doyle". We were now complete, after a blast of the rummy theme song (The A-Team), we proceeded to paint the town rummy. The Bailey Bar was our destination, luckily Rumsfeld and Rumpel stumbled upon this haven the previous night. The rummies felt right at home in this place where anything goes - and the 2 for 1 offer. The Rummies were completely responsible for the sudden influx of punters - the "try-hards", Loreto and HSD girls and St.Marys lads - to the bailey bar. The rest of the night was spent wandering the strip.

A Historic night it was indeed.

The following day Rummy merchandise was made - A rummy hat and wife beater. Gambling and drinking filled the rest of the day.

The following day was dubbed "Rummies Day Out" - The Booze Cruise. Unfortunately one member was unable to attend - Cuppage, but the other rummies made up for his absence, we were all impressed with the rummies drinking performances but Rummy Doyle took the biscuit with his bellyflop from a height of 20 foot. A rummy singsong was had on the coach back.

For the Remainder of the holiers the rummies stuck together, they continued to drink hard, generally go crazy, go to the Bailey Bar, gamble, sleep and above all command massive respect from their peers.
