While we were pleased at how Ironsides did at Spectrum we thought it needed some improvements. So a rebuild was decided!
Firstly, Ironsides had trouble actually wedging bots at Kilobots and acted more as a rammer. So we opted to make his new shell lower and more streamlined. We also decided a weapon would make it more effective so a small vertically spinning bar is in plans. Overall the bot will appear the same as the original except for the gap for the spinning bar in the front.
Here is the new unimproved shell with the weapon on top. We needed to save weight for the weapon so this shell is all 1/16" aluminum and is quite a bit weaker than the last one.
Heres the final product just before its first fight at March Kilobots.
