In addition to numerous acronyms, we have our own slang words that we use on the boards, too. Confused yet?
Blowtorch - When a man pursues very heavily in the beginning of a relationship. It is very hot and burns out quickly in comparison to a steady flame that lasts.
Bookmark - when a man asks you out without giving any specifics, like the time or activity. You're not sure if you have a date or not because he has not made firm plans with you. or Bookmarked verb.
Dreamgirl - A man's perfect (for him) woman. The woman he is crazy about and wants to marry.
Exclusivity Talk - When a man asks you to have an exclusive relationship with him. It is never initiated by a Rules Girl.
Eight Week Wait - A term from Patricia Allen, a woman should wait eight weeks before engaging in contact with a man who seems to have broken up with her. abb. 8ww
Float Away - When a Rules Girl slowly becomes less available to a man by taking less of his calls, seeing him less, and seeing Other Men more.
Hmroo? - Scooby-Doo language for "Huh?"
Intentions Talk - A one time talk that a Rules Girl initiates with a man to find out if it's time for her to move on. This is usually around 2 years of dating with no proposal.
LaVeNdAr BaTh - A lovely, scented bath in which you relax and pamper youself. Something to do instead of pursuing or PBTing about men.
Lobster - A man who replies to your Online Dating ad. coined by Lolly
Moonpie - 1. A man who flirts and acts interested in you, but expects you to chase him.
2. A man with feminine, passive energy
3. A tasty mashmallow filled snack see http://www.moonpie.comNEXT! - When you stop dating a man. We use the term "Next" because we are moving on to the next man.
Pop-In - When a man stops by your home or workplace uninvited and with no advance notice.
also Pop-OverRelationship Talk - When a couple talks about their relationship. This should very rarely or never be intitiated by a Rules Girl. We should also avoid being dragged into one before we have anything to say.
SockPuppet - A fake name to post with, usually created to pose as someone who agrees with the user's point of view.
Troll - someone who comes to the boards only to stir up trouble.
