The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
Spoilers

The Matrix Reloaded is the brain child of the Wachowski Brothers, and is one of the most hyped and now one of the most disputed movies of all time, half of every one that watched that movie loved it and the other half hates the film.

On one hand this film is a marvel of action sequences and special effects, which will rival future films for years to come. It has Yuen Wo Ping, a very talented eastern kung fu choreographer doing the wire work in this movie and each fight scene is great to watch, if not a little to long (Ill come to that later).

It has one of the longest car chase scene in history, lasting more than 15 minutes, in which they show an agent hoping on cars, Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) ride a motor bike, with the key-maker as a back pack and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) Vs an agent a top of a speeding truck with Neo (Keanu Reeves) coming to the rescue at the end.

The Matrix philosophy is a little light in this outing, while in the first one it helped Neo to find his power in this one there are only two major examples; the first when one Zions leaders talk to Neo about control and Neo conversion with The Architect, though that is a very quick conversation and you may have to see it a couple of times for it to sink in.

There are only two major complaints about this work of art; first there is a lack of guns, more martial arts but fewer guns. Though I get this, because any idiot can fire a gun in a movie, but few can fly, stop bullets and make a fight look really cool. The other complaint is that every scene, especially that fight between Neo and one hundred agents Smiths (Hugo Weaving) seemed to be a little to long. They seem to drag on, and you were glad to see it end.

This all builds you to a dramatic conclusion, annoying audience with the phrase to be concluded.

Overall this movie was alright, but some scenes could of have been shorter and the specia effects could of improved.

Final Score

6/10
