Many take the name to mean that Gregory was responsible for the missing kids and Wendy maybe saw something. After Gregory rescued her when the airship sank, Jennifer lived there with him, in the basement. This provides another source for the name Wendy gave the house. It would be quite easy for her to compare the situation with that of the siblings in Hansel and Gretel. The house is badly deteriorated and neglected, most likely because of the death of Joshua. |
