Dragoness Astra - This Astra's story is like so many of her sisters, at least up to the point where it differs. In this case, before her Fred could come across her, the Dragon (in the guise of an elderly wizard named "Belboz" but actually named "Minestus") magically struck her mute (as well as making her bigger in the bust and hip areas. However, while Belboz/Minestus was playing around with Astra, a glider named Checkers came across some book which somehow (when read aloud by the curious Glider) cause some kind of switch. While Belboz/Minestus remained male and Astra female, the dragon mage was now a human being (magically mute) whilst Astra was now a dragoness! She quickly slew the evil mage, but soon encountered Fred and Checkers (the Glider). Fred was going to try to slay Astra (thinking she was the dragon he had been tasked to kill) but Checkers was able to come up with a test that proved to both that Astra was indeed only a human woman changed (somehow) into her current form. It involved some kind of barrel roll test (a bogus test) which a real dragon would have known that such a feat inside the caverns would be impossible. So when Astra crashed (and rathe hurt herself in the process), Checkers knew Astra wasn't the Dragon of the Southern Caverns. Fine and well, but while Fred and she were looking around the area for some means of trying to turn Astra back to human, a certain demon with the initials "R. F." showed up to have some fun (at our heroes expense). Flagg teleported Astra away to Nantucket Earth (and accelerated her transistion of her Matrix into a full grown Wyrm stage for Dragons). Now finding herself stuck as a dragon (and desire suddenly very dimished in wanting to return), Astra had a problem. She was a dragoness without a Hoard!

Problem. She was now a dragon with no Hoard. With no Hoard.

Dragons of her species need treasure like....perhaps....a person need food to survive. So what we have now is a female dragon who's very...hungry...in such a way she's never been before. Something more akin to perhaps a drug addict needing a "hit".....but a thousand times worse.

At least this "addiction" has the benefit of the substance in question being able to last a LONG time. Oh, eventually a dragon needs more and more treasure for their Hoard since their life forces (and powers) are linked to it (the magic that is a vital part of their metabolism comes through their Hoard, btw).....but that's about the only good thing about it.

Worse, if she doesn't get it....she'll die very painfully. And she doesn't even have the beginning of a Hoard....making her desperate indeed. She can feel her life and vitality (as well as maybe untapped magical powers) slipping away as we speak....

As an addict who's desperate, she might not be able to....er...control herself in the way she goes about getting her "hit".

But there is more to this issue than what I've just said, I fear. Flagg did this to Astra because it has the potential for a lot of mayhem and tragedy. He'd also teleported another human woman turned dragoness named Andrea to Nantucket Earth with a similar problem. He got a big laugh out of the idea that two potential sisters in all but blood (as so many Astras and Andreas seem to come to view themselves, so close do they become) tearing themselves apart in hate and envy! Trying to kill the other over a much needed "hit".

But before this could come about, Dragoness Astra met Dragon Synizn and "Eye meets Eye" took place. Potential rampage stopped and our newest dragon fell permanently in love with Dragon Synizn (and vice versa).

Gladly accepted becoming a Champion and is presently engaged to her new love. Will go with him out on her Validation Quest here sooner or later...

So enthralled and overjoyed with her new found body (her "rightful form" as she puts it), she gladly listened to her new love and converted over to his religion. Surely, she felt, this was a gift from Tiamat herself!
