Terra 47
(Doctor Who: Eternal Champion)

Thalja - This is a female centaur who used to be a female human being named Astra Thessamer. Like so many of her "sisters", she had been captured by the Dragon of the Northern Caverns (by her map) and chained to a wall in the cave, naked. She was rescued by one Lord Frederigo D'Honaire and both united forces to go forth and slay the dragon.

Somewhere along the way the two got separated and Astra (unconscious) found herself waking up on a beach, found what appears to be Fred. However, this Fred has no memory of her. Whether or not this was "her" Fred is up in the air or this Fred is under enchantment. Again they joined forces, but again fate interrupted things.

They get captured by bandits with drug tipped arrows. The prisoners get sold into slavery, purchased by a hideous creature called a Snark (a being who's uncloaked body drive those who see it insane).

The Snark had a mission for the newly purchased. They had to travel two weeks into the future to rescue the Snark's lover -- a centaur named Horace -- and bring him back to the here and now. An enemy of the Snark had kidnapped and marooned the centaur in the future. Why this and why not just wait the two weeks to find Horace?

The monster explained it thus:

"Because I don't need Horace in two weeks time," the Snark replied. "I need him by at the latest four days from now. You see, Horace and I have been invited to dinner with the king of the centaurs in four days time. I can't possibly turn up alone without at best incurring a massive loss of face; at worst, I could be suspected of having murdered Horace. And centaur justice works fast. I could easily be tried, convicted and executed before another ten days had passed. That's why my enemies, who don't approve of inter-species relationships, kidnapped him and took him to the future."

The centaur, in that future time, was being held prisoner by allies of this enemy of the Snark so the guy couldn't somehow manage to get back to the present (as it were), so with nothing for it, that's where the two humans came in to the picture.

If the two humans refused, the Snark would go on a rampage, driving innocent people insane.

The two, heroes to the end, found that nothing else could be done. They took the time travel devices the Snark provided and both found themselves two weeks in the future, looking for the stolen centaur.

They managed to track down the kidnappers and arrange a viewing, posing as buyers of exotic creatures. However, the kidnappers were smarter than appearances let on and turned the tables on Astra when she was taken to the barn where Horace (supposedly) was kept. They jumped her, knocking her cold, and fed her a magical potion that turned Astra into a female centaur. All part of an elaborate joke, apparently.

Got worse when some Demon took it into it's head that this new centaur would be perfect for it's plans. It made the transformation permanent by placing a Key Component to the Dark Tower within her Matrix, freezing it into it's present form. The former human woman was now a centauress forevermore.

Then she was fed some kind of Eden fruit, making her immortal in the bargaining. So not even death would free her from her new form (not that she'd mind, after awhile). From the waste up she looked the way she had (if you discount the now rather sharp ears she had). From the waste down, she was a chesnut mare (with a reddish coat).

Then, to add to it, the centaur was given a case of amnesia and teleported to another world entirely.

She found herself trotting on a barren beach, on an island with a golden mystical city in the distance.

This was the newly arisen island of Atlantis, and the inhabitants (long in a magical slumber) were awake and about.

Not sure of their new environment, whether or not their enemies who'd put them asleep were still about, the Atlans were very nervous (almost paranoid). The centaurs were captured, to be examined later to tell whether they were friend or foe.

But soon enough her freedom was won by a group of Champions on a Quest (she was one of the Quest's goals) and taken into the Dark Tower, where the Component was removed. Her lost memories were also cured, so as far as was possible she was put to right.

Soon joined with the Champions as one of their newest members. Presently back on Terra Prime, adjusting. Has taken this new name to more fit her current form. Somehow Astra just didn't fit, now.

Because of the special nature of what had been done to her (a MAJOR breach in office protocol), she's not required to take a Validation Quest to cement her status as Champion.
