(Doctor Who Eternal Champion)
Demifox Fred 2 - Think of Demifox Fred, except that he and Astra got to Wallants, things went differently.
First, both demifoxes got caught in a repetitive time loop which they only escaped by smashing the very thing that they'd hoped would return them to human beings. This Crystallic they had was everything we've seen in other story threads, but it was not only something more (a Signal generator that would raise the long lost island of Atlantis), but breakable by mundane means. That is, Fred was able to destroy it by merely smashing it. Well, that released the trapped demifoxes, but pretty much put to paid (so they felt) their chances of returning to "normal".
As it was, that hope had already been put to paid even before that. Seems that like so many others in this Key Component Quest stuff, these demifoxes had caught the maligant eye of a Demon. Somewhere while still trapped in timewarp time, the Demon had not only slipped a Key Component within the demifoxes (making their form resistent to change by anything short of a Higher Up). Bottom line, their dreams of returning to humanity had been put to paid, period! Do add that a slice of some Eden fruit had also been put into their stomachs? Death wouldn't even free them because death was denied them. Won' age. Won't die, period. They and their unborn kits inside
Then there was something more. Seems that this Wallants was full of thieves, okay. But there was also the fact that this city really was a mockup, which was being packed up and carted off before the "law" made it's rounds (if only for show). Long story, but the thing here is that some of the inhabitants had stolen the demifoxes gear and money whilst they'd been recovering from their ordeals (the timewarp they'd barely escaped).
Desolute, the Doctor and companions came upon them and offered them a job as guide through these lands while they were on a Quest (details not fully revealed to the demifoxes). Terms were . . . generous and the demifoxes accepted. Even accepted the stipulation about them being "blockified". What else could they do? Besides, somethign about this Doctor made them want to trust him.
If you haven't guessed already, these demifoxes here were just one set of several Key Component victims they were after to collect....
While blocks, something unexpected happened. Details on why aren't sure, but a connection of souls happened between the demifoxes (born and unborn). Souls laid bare, Astra and Fred here saw each other and fell DEEPLY and permanently in love. They also met the unborn, and both fell for each other. Basically, no worries about resentment about their fates the unexpected parents would harbor as they raised their children. They'd clamored to be wed soon upon coming back out for being consulted.
Thus and thus.
Right now, having their Components remove they're now on Terra Prime, adjusting to having joined up with Eternity Inc. They're Champions of the Rules and Agents, now. Even the kits, who got advanced to an age to what they'd be if delivered normally via birth (long story). The kits will age to age eighteen, and then cease to age after that.
Because of their special nature, they're not required to take a validation Quest.
