Fourth of July Parade
Thursday July 4th, at 10:00am.
This years theme is "A Century of Reading". The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following,
enjoy post-parade activities such as entertainment, craft booths, and concessions.
Mountain Biking
Friday July 5th at 8:00 am and Saturday July 6th at 9:15 am.
We are planning two 1 to 3 hour rides beginning at 8:00am on Friday and Saturday mornings. We will be very flexible
and will tailor the rides to the abilities and desires of the interested riders.
The Friday morning ride will be for intermediate to advanced riders. Route and distance
TBD. Whatever the majority wants.
On Saturday morning we will gather at the TV Antennas on Braintree Hill around 9:15am.
We will try to arrange for some kind of bike drop off and shuttle service between the TV antenna and Gray's camp.
At 9:30am we will begin a leisurely, and very scenic, ride across the (mostly flat) top of Braintree
Hill. We will ride out to Rolling Rock for a group picture and some refreshments.
After a 15-30 minute break we will ride back out to Braintree Hill Road and down Bent
Hill Road. Let me stress, "down" Bent Hill Road. It is 2 miles of down hill with little
or no pedaling! We will turn right on Battles Road and head out to Gray's camp and arrive
in time for the picnic. Total mileage from the TV Antennas out to Rolling Rock and
then to Gray's Camp is just over 8 miles. Should be do-able by most rider abilities
and older children. Shouldn't take much more than an hour, hour and a half tops.
Anyone (spouses or significant others) even remotely interested can contact Mark via the feedback button below.

at 6:30pm & is priced at $17.00 per person.
There will be no speaker this year. Instead, there will be a video presentation. The

Family Hike
Sunday July 7th at 1:00pm. We will be hiking Mount Cushman. The 1:00 pm start time will allow time for people
to attend church and have lunch with family. Everyone should pack a snack and plenty
to drink. This is a pretty steep hike but it's all on a fire road. We will take it slow
so that children can keep up. Round trip should be no more than 4 miles. We should be
back down the mountain no later than 4:30 pm. The spectacular view is well worth the effort
it will take to get up there! Directions-From Randolph take School St which turns into Thayer
Brook Rd. Take a left at the 3 corners on to Little Hollow Road and take it almost to the end.
Park along the road at the four corners. Click here for a map.
