Your student should have a copy - ask to read it. o CAML Math Contest, Tuesday at Lunch The first California Math League (CAML) Contest is this Tuesday, Oct. 25, at lunch in Room 316. Bring your calculator and earn extra credit in your math class (geometry and higher). There are 6 CAML contests each year, with 6 questions per contest and a 30 minute time limit. The last 2 questions are generally more difficult than the first 4 with the final question intended to challenge the very best mathematics students. The problems require no knowledge beyond high school math; no calculus is required. Two to four of the questions only require a knowledge of elementary algebra. They are having their 1st planning meeting and committee signup on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 9-10am at the district offices at 1401 Inglewood Ave. Committees will include: Decorations, Publicity, Restaurants/Food, Entertainment, Ticket Sales, Auction, Cruise Raffle, Service, and more. The fair is at Mira Costa High School this year on Wednesday, Nov. 9. (RUHS and Costa takes turns hosting this event.) Seniors and their parents will be admitted early at 6:30pm. The doors will open for the other grade levels at 7pm. The fair runs until 9pm. This event is worth attending for all high school students and their parents to get a feel for some of the college options. o Homecoming Royalty Tina Toomata and Miles Peck were named as the Homecoming Queen and King last week at the Homecoming Dance.
