This event is part of the Lee National Denim Day, the world's largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer. Staff and students are asked to make a donation in Room 801 (the Lee site recommends $5); donators will receive a pink bracelet or pink pin to wear to show their support. Proceeds will be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. See http://www.denimday.com/about.asp for more on Denim Day. The theme this year is "Pirates" and tickets go on sale the week before the dance for $13 ($10 with an ASB sticker). Below are a few tips on the dance (assuming it is like last year) for you new parents and students: - ALL grade levels should come: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors - No dates are needed - in fact, most people come with friends - Dress is casual; students are encouraged to dress in the pirate theme. The dress code will be enforced. - You need to meet certain grade/behavior criteria to be eligible to attend the dance. (They'll be checking a "no go" list before selling you your ticket.) - If you want to bring a guest that does not attend RUHS, you have to complete a special application. - Photos will be available at the dance. Some of the packages are pretty expensive, but there is a group photo option that is reasonable and a fun memory. Photo info will be on the back of the ticket. For those of you wondering about school dances with formal dress, the date for Winter Fantasy (all grade levels welcome) has just been set for Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Marina Del Rey Yacht Club. The Junior/Senior Prom is scheduled for Saturday, June 3. o Get Scared for Grad Night 2007 Knott's Scary Farm tickets will be sold for cash only on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 6-7, in Room 203 at snack and lunch.
