The team defeated University of Irvine in their 1st round state match on Tuesday night. Despite their loss to Mira Costa in the CIF II-AA Southern Section finals on Nov. 19, the RUHS team was still seeded #2 in the State regional playoffs. If yours got "lost in the mail" be sure to contact the school. Remember that the quarter grades are just a check point and grades continue to build for the more important semester report; there is no reset of grades at the quarter. Check with the Math, Chemistry, and Spanish Clubs regarding free tutoring if your student could use a little help. o ASB "Space Rave" Dance Coming Up on Dec. 9 The ASB is sponsoring a dance on Friday, Dec. 9, from 8-11pm in the Small Gym. The theme is "Space Rave" and it is promised to be really cool with black lights and glow in the dark bracelets for the first 200 people that show up. The dress is casual. Tickets should be on sale in Room 202 this Monday (or soon thereafter) for $10 ($7 with ASB card). Tickets must be purchased before the dance; there will be no ticket sales at the door. Only RUHS students are allowed to attend and you will need your ID both to purchase your ticket and at the door the night of the dance. o Parent Volunteers Needed for ASB Dance The ASB is looking for parent volunteers to help decorate and to chaperone at the Dec. 9 dance. Contact Mr. Soohoo at redondoasb@yahoo.com if you can help them out. o Juniors/Seniors: ASVAB Testing Dec. 5 ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) testing will take place Monday, Dec. 5, from 7:45am to noon in the cafeteria. The ASVAB is a testing tool that helps students explore civilian and military career opportunities by matching student interests to career possibilities. Taking the test does not obligate students to join the military. Interested students can pick up participation slips from the Career Center; they must be returned by Thursday, Dec. 1. Military recruiters will be visiting 11th & 12th grade social studies classes this Monday to provide more information on the test.
