Seniors with ID can get in early at 6:30pm, while the doors open for the rest of the classes at 7pm. The event runs until 9pm. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to pick up information from colleges across the country. The fair will be in the 2 gyms at Costa and colleges will be arranged alphabetically. You can pick up a list of suggested questions to ask college reps in the Career Center. o Parent Volunteers Needed for ASB Dance on Dec. 9 The ASB is looking for parent volunteers to help with their next big dance on Friday, Dec. 9 from 7-11pm. The theme of the dance is "Space Rave". o Juniors: Apply for Sacramento Safari by Nov. 30 Juniors received information on applying for Sacramento Safari last week during classes. Sacramento Safari is a 3 day educational event scheduled for March 14-16 in Sacramento. To apply, students need to write a one page essay expressing why they are interested in participating in Sacramento Safari. The chosen student(s) will get to experience the working of the California Legislature. The PTSA sponsors one Junior to attend this event each year; it is hoped that, like last year, additional funding will be obtained for a 2nd student. Some ECC classes can be taken for high school credit, but be sure to get permission from your counselor and fill out all the proper paperwork. o El Camino Reps in Career Center Every Monday in November An El Camino College representative will be in the Career Center every Monday in November from 10am to 2pm to meet with students. Students can sign up for an appointment in the Career Center. o Presentations on El Camino Honors Transfer Program Nov. 14 On Monday Nov. 14, there will be 2 presentations on the ECC Honors Transfer Program during Period 2 and Period 3. Students can pick up a pass to participate in either presentation from the Career Center. ECC is now accepting online applications for early consideration to the summer or fall 2006 terms.
