Some of the suggested schools are a repeat from last week's item on Summer School, but there are several additional considerations. Students seeking academic courses for credit can check out opportunities offered by El Camino College (http://www.elcamino.edu, click on "Class Schedule" to view offerings); LA Harbor College (http://www.lahc.cc.ca.us/, click on "Schedule" under "Admissions" to view offerings); Marymount College (http://www.marymountpv.edu, hit the pause button next to the scrolling window when "Middle & High School Summer Programs" appears in window; summer classes offered at Hull Middle School in Torrance and at Peninsula High School). Bishop Montgomery High School is another possible resource, as are UCLA and USC, both of which offer various summer programs for fun as well as for academic programs. Students need to check with their advisor before signing up for classes to verify that a) the course(s) make sense for them, and b) they will receive credit for the courses. The Career Center has information about other local, national, and international summer programs for high school students. These have been advertised in the on-line bulletin. Students are welcome to stop in the Career Center before or after school and at snack or lunch to pick up information. If parents want to visit the Career Center, they need to call for an appointment (798-8665, x2200). o Check the On-Line Bulletin Now http://ruhs.bnet.org/ CONGRATULATIONS o The Boys' Golf Team made CIF playoffs for the second year in a row.
