The current policy, which went into effect in the 2002-2003 school year, allows students to wear any hat of their choice. The previous policy only allowed RUHS hats to be worn. The teachers requested a review of the new policy due to issues that have come up with hats not being removed in class upon request, bandanas being worn under the hats, etc. In a teacher survey, the vote was 72-23 to return to the old hat policy. Beth Cross, one of the parent representatives on the commission, is seeking input from parents on this issue at bethcross@earthlink.net before the meeting. The entire dress code is not up for review until next year, but suggestions beyond the hat issue are welcome. The membership of the School Site Commission consists of the principals, two parents, as well as student, teacher and administrative representatives. Meetings are held monthly. o Dress Code Reminder The RUHS Staff reminds students to use good judgment in their school dress - no excessive midriff exposure and no tank tops for the guys. o Prom Guest Passes and Nominations Nominations for prom King and Queen are available in Room 219 through Friday.
