o  Special School Board Meeting Tuesday on Superintendent

   A special school board meeting has been called for tomorrow
   night (Tuesday, July 12) at 6:30pm at the district office.
   It appears the meeting could impact the position of our
   Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Carol Leighty.  While most
   items on the agenda will be covered in a closed session,
   the meeting will begin with a period for public comment.  If you
   have an opinion on this topic, you should be sure to attend.
   My understanding is that there is a significant financial impact
   to this decision as Dr. Leighty's contract would have to be bought
   out.

   The agenda is as follows:

   I.   Approval of Minutes - None
   II.  Approval of Agenda
   III. Public Comment

        Members of the audience may address the board on any topic
        regardless of whether it is listed on the agenda.  However,
        due to Brown Act Regulations, the Board cannot engage in
        public discussion on items not on the Agenda.  Topics not on
        the agenda, which are brought to the Board's attention, may
        be investigated by the Administration and a report made to the
        Board, either publicly or privately, at a future meeting.
        Comments from visitors shall not exceed three (3) minutes
        unless the time limit is waived by a majority of the Board.

   IV.  Closed Session

        The Board of Education will recess to Closed Session to
        complete discussion and/or take action on the following items
        listed for Closed Session.  Any action taken will be reported
        in Open Session following the Closed Session.

        1.  Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release
        2.  Public Employee Performacne Evaluation
            a.  Superintendent of Schools
        3.  Public Employment
            a.  Superintendent of Schools
        4.  Public Employee Appointment
            a.  Superintendent of Schools
   
   V.   Reconvene to Open Session; Report Out of Closed Session

   VI.  Adjournment
