"The Board of Education of the Redondo Beach Unified School District invites you to join a Community Policy Review Committee to assist with the development, review and update of several policies for the Board of Education. For several months, the Board has completed updating many of the policies in the district's policy manual. This important task reviews our policies, revise them to be in compliance with new state laws, policies and regulations which provides a resource for staff and community on how the district is governed. Before they are brought to the Board for approval, a few policies require community review and feedback. I am asking for volunteers to review various policies and report back to the Board. If you are interested in joining the Community Policy Review Committee, please submit your name to my Assistant, Linda Porter no later than January 21, 2006. Linda can be reached at 310/379-5449 ext. 248 or via email at lporter@rbusd.org. A list of policies will be provided to the volunteers with at least two weeks to review before each scheduled meeting. The initial package will provide instructions on how the review and recommendations for revisions are received. During the meetings, the Committee will discuss and make suggestions then vote on a recommendation to be presented to the Board of Education for review and adoption. I believe if we have two Committee meetings from 7-8 p.m. the first and third weeks of the month, this task will be accomplished. Thank you for considering this offer. The involvement and expertise of our community enhances the quality of our schools. Sincerely, Robert E. Paulson, Superintendent of Schools (Interim)" ONGOING FUNDRAISERS: o Target: http://target.com/target_group/schools/search_school.jhtml School ID: 29328 o When you buy anything at Office Depot, ask them to give credit to RUHS.
