Students should have their paperwork in by Apr. 22. The process has been staggered so your student may or may not have already had their session with the counselor. Students were given copies of the course offerings to work with during the counselor session, but were not given copies to take home. You can view the document at http://www.geocities.com/ruhs_email/RUHS_Course_Descriptions_05_06.doc or your student can pick up a copy in the Career Center or from their counselor. I'm hoping to get an electronic copy of the RUHS graduation requirements as well as the UC/CSU admission requirements to post on my website as these are critical as you help your student choose their classes for next year. Later in the week, check http://www.geocities.com/ruhs_email or ask your student to get a copy from a counselor. If you still have a Freshman Handbook, the requirements are listed there. You can check which RUHS classes are UC approved at https://pathways.ucop.edu/doorways/list. You might also want to have your student pick up a copy of their transcript in the office. The transcript has a nice credit summary where the requirements and completed credits are listed. The names of the counselors are below in case you have any questions about the scheduling process. Remember that students are now assigned a counselor alphabetically based on their last name. The school phone number is 798-8665. - Tawni Weidman x2015 tweidman@bnet.org (A-C) - Arond Schonberg x2014 aschonberg@bnet.org (D-H) - Ashley Goodman x2043 agoodman@bnet.org (I-M) - Marianne Turner x2016 mturner@bnet.org (N-R) - Keith Fulthorp x2012 kfulthorp@bnet.org (S-Z) o RUHS Summer School is Jun. 27-Aug. 5 The dates for RUHS's summer school are Jun. 27 to Aug. 5. Classes will actually take place at the Parras MS campus. Ben Dale is the summer school principal; you can contact him at 798-8665 or bdale@bnet.org if you have any questions. I'm pretty sure that RUHS's summer school will be remedial only again this year due to the continuing budget issues. I've started a "Summer Opportunities" section at the end of the email where I'm including links to other "for fee" places students can take classes this summer. (For instance, my son took the required Health class online through El Camino last year.) Let me know if you have any other suggestions to include in this section. I understand there will be a summer sports program done in conjunction with SportsWorld again; I'm trying to get the details on that. o March 12 SAT Results Available Online The College Board released this information regarding the New SAT administered on Mar. 12: - On Apr. 11, students can access their scores online. They'll need to log in using their College Board user ID and password. - On Apr. 16, students can access their essays online. - On Apr. 18, results will be mailed to students. The essay will not be included in the envelope, however, it will only be available online. If a student does not have access to the Internet, a copy can be requested by mail.
